Budget
A Budget is built on a Sub Account and is used to control the spending limits of associated virtual Cards. A Budget does not hold independent funds.
Creating or increasing a Budget Limit uses the Available Balance of the Sub Account. After a Budget is allocated, the Sub Account Available Balance decreases and the Allocated Budget Limit increases. After a Budget is released, the funds are restored in the opposite direction.
| Field | Calculation or meaning |
| Budget Limit | The total limit allocated to the Budget |
| Total Spent | Spending from associated Cards in processing and successful transactions |
| Available to Spend | Budget Limit − Total Spent |
| Utilized Limit | Utilized Limit of Shared Limit Cards + Card Limit of Dedicated Limit Cards |
| Available Limit | Budget Limit − Utilized Limit |
Available to Spend shows how much of the Budget remains unspent. Available Limit is used to determine whether a Shared Limit Card can continue spending or whether a Dedicated Limit Card can be assigned a limit.
Therefore, a Budget may have Available to Spend but not necessarily have Available Limit.
